Baraná Quintet
Baraná Quintet balances refreshingly between Turkish tradition and free improvisation. The warm voice of Behsat Üvez, the dynamic modal improvisations of clarinettist Steven Kamperman and the orchestral accordeon sounds of Bart Lelivelt capture the ear. Together with the alert bass playing of Meinrad Kneer and the intense drumming of Sebastian Demydczuk, the band creates a whirl wind that freely blows through all boxes. ‘Astonishing fireworks’, judged reviewer Saskia Törnqvist.
